Oxy Plays Redlands on Senior Night

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental men's water polo team fell to Redlands 14-9 in its final home game of the season on Wednesday night.

Elijah Havens led the Tigers with three goals and one assist, and Cian Concannon and Jarrod Norton each had two goals.

Spencer Allen led the Bulldogs with four goals and three assists. 

Oxy falls to 9-15 overall and 1-10 in SCIAC play.

Redlands improves to 12-13 and 5-6.

Oxy finishes the season with four road games against Loyola Marymount, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Caltech and Whittier.

The Tigers celebrated the careers of seniors Luke Boyer and Nicolas Lipari with a brief pregame ceremony.

More About Oxy's Seniors

Boyer is a 6'1" left-handed attacker from Honolulu, Hawaii. Luke attended water polo powerhouse Punahou School prior to his time at Occidental. As a four-year member of the men's water polo team, Luke has brought consistent effort and dedication to a program that has seen huge growth during his four seasons. As a high-achieving student, Luke is studying economics and math. Next fall he plans to work in a financial advising firm. 

Lipari is a 5'10" attacker from Sunnyvale, California. Nico came to Occidental from Wilcox High School, where he also competed for West Valley Water Polo Club. As a three-year starter, Nico has led the team in several categories over the last four years, including assists, steals, and minutes played. Nico was named team captain during his sophomore year, and has played an integral role in growing the team's competitiveness and culture. As a student, Nico is studying politics and urban environmental policy. Next fall he will pursue a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
